Megan Griffith

Name: Megan Griffith

Title: Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Engagement and Director of Extension

Location: State Extension Administration Office

Date of Hire: June 2019

Personal Information: I hale from the Golden, Colorado area and have lived in Fort Collins since 2013. I am an enthusiastic traveler, Anglophile, lover of literature, film and TV; and have an appreciation for the culinary arts, gardening, back-yard chickens, dogs, cats, and elephants. My bucket list items include winning Jeopardy, visiting all US States, Territories, and National Parks, and obtaining a Ph.D.

Job Experience: I have been at CSU since September of 2013, spending four years supporting leadership in the College of Agricultural Sciences and two years in corporate and foundation relations with the College of Natural Sciences. My overall professional higher education experience also includes three years in the Dean’s Office of the College of Education and Social Services at the University of Vermont.

Personal Information: I am originally from Baltimore, MD and moved to Colorado for the second time in 2017. I enjoy spending my time doing outdoor activities as well as exploring the many culinary choices Denver has to offer.

Job Experience: Prior to working in CSU Extension, I worked for a variety of non-profit organizations, NGOS’s, and school systems both domestically and internationally focused primarily on youth development, public health, and immigration.

Cristy Dice

Name: Cristy Dice

Title: Extension State Specialist – Produce Safety

Location: State Extension Administration Office

Date of Hire: June 2019

Personal Information: I was raised on a small farm with a greenhouse operation in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. My husband and I moved out to Colorado in 2012 to fulfill our lifetime goal of living in the western United States. We love hiking and backpacking and trying to find some solitude in the outdoors. I also enjoy spending my free time cooking and baking various cuisines of the world.

Job Experience: I have spent my career in the agriculture industry pursuing my passion of working with farmers, with the majority of my experience focused in the livestock sector. Prior to my position at Extension, I was at the Colorado Department of Agriculture for 6 years with my most recent position being the Produce Safety Rule Program Manager.

Andrew Reed

Name: Andrew Reed

Title: Administrative Assistant

Location: Tri River Area – Montrose & Ouray Counties

Date of Hire: June 2019

Personal Information: I have been a resident of Montrose for the last 9 years after growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah. Some of the activities I enjoy in my off time include reading, cooking, DJing, backpacking and working with computers. As a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts, I have seen firsthand how much both the interpersonal and leadership skills and the interests you develop in youth organizations can help grow the youth in our communities, and I am excited to bring that passion to my position here at Extension.

Job Experience: I have spent the last 10 years in customer-centric roles including 8 years with Gordon Composites and a stint with Ebay’s event ticketing division. I have previously been a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America and look forward to using that experience in my current role.

Education:
I have taken Experiential Education coursework from the University of Utah and earned a Certificate in Graphic Design while studying abroad in Sydney, Australia.


Tyler Cozzens

Name: Tyler Cozzens

Title: Extension State Specialist – Agricultural Economist

Location: Livestock Marketing Information Center (LMIC)

Date of Hire: July 2019

Personal Information: I was born and raised in Eaton, Colorado on my families crop and livestock farm. I enjoy a variety of sporting activities and being outdoors.

Job Experience: I previously worked as an agricultural economist at the United States Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA/FAS) in Washington, D.C. where I provided situation and outlook economic analysis on U.S. and global livestock production and trade. I also worked for the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (USDA/APHIS) evaluating animal disease prevalence in U.S. food animal populations and unregulated wildlife populations.

Miranda Ulmer

Name: Miranda Ulmer

Title: Extension Regional Specialist – Viticulture

Personal Information: I grew up in the Midwest, specifically Indianapolis, Indiana. That is where I grew to appreciate the outdoors, and I look forward to exploring the plethora of options the Grand Valley has to offer. You can find me rock climbing, trail running or paddle boarding. Oh! I also love to cook, and I look forward to incorporating some of the fantastic produce from the area into my creations!

Job Experience: This is my first job out of Graduate School!

Beth Hayes

Name: Beth Hayes

Title: 4-H & Youth Development Coordinator

Location: Pueblo County

Date of Hire: July 2019

Personal Information: I am a fourth generation Pueblo Colorado native. I enjoy competing in cutting shows along with doing cow-dog trials with my Kelpie mix. I love to garden and fish as well.

Job Experience: Prior to working in Extension I worked as the Turf Production Manager at a sod farm up in northern Colorado. Along with that experience I spent many years working on various cow-calf and feedlot operations all over the western states of the US along with being an assistant trainer to many reined cow and cutting horse trainers.
