McKensie Harris

Name: McKensie Harris

Title: Area Extension Agent, Livestock

Location: Golden Plains Area, Yuma

Date of Hire: April 2018

Personal Information: I was born and raised in Laramie, Wyoming. I spent a lot of time cultivating my understanding of horses and livestock through programs such as 4-H and FFA. In 2011, I began my undergraduate career at the University of Wyoming studying animal science. I have spent the last two years at Texas A&M University completing my graduate program, which focused on research, teaching, and extension service in the field of meat science. While at Texas A&M, I coached the meat judging team. This activity only further solidified my excitement and passion for educating people, especially those eager to learn. When I need to unwind, you will find me on the back of my horse.

Job Experience: I have been an intern for Western Sire Services, UW Extension, and the San Antonio Livestock Exposition. I have also been employed with the Laramie Research and Extension Center and the UW animal and veterinary science departments. I look forward to starting a career with CSU Extension.
