Lease an Animal Program

Learn more about leasing an animal for 4-H

The Lease-an-Animal Program is intended to connect 4-H youth members who do not (or cannot) own a certain species of 4-H project animal with an adult who owns and houses that animal.

The adult (called the “Lessor”) who leases the animal to the youth 4-H member must own the animal and be located on-site where the animal is housed. The youth 4-H member is called the “Participant.”

By leasing an animal (or multiple animals) from the Lessor, the participant will learn the care of the animal including, but not limited to, feeding, watering, barn chores, vaccinations, and more.
