Adams County 4-H Committees
4-H Committees offer an opportunity for youth, parents and volunteers to:
- conduct programs and activities for youth
- provide opportunities for youth and volunteers
- offer in-service training on youth development
- raise funds and manage a budget to support 4-H youth development work
- coordinate county-level recognition
- represent 4-H youth development to the community
- provide opportunity for feedback on questions, problems, etc.
- help decide program direction and policy
- increase awareness about 4-H opportunities on local, county, area, state and national levels

Adams County 4-H Members Council
The Adams County 4-H Members Council, also known as County Council, is made up of 4-H members from around the County. All 4-H members are invited to come and get involved. The purpose of Council is to plan, design and implement countywide 4-H activities while learning leadership, decision making, and program development. Some of the activities sponsored by the Members’ Council include: 4-H social events, Countywide community service projects and the Annual Achievement Celebration.
Meetings are typically held on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. except for August. Times and location are posted on the events page.
Tabletop Project Committee (Family & Consumer Science and General Project Areas)
The Tabletop Project Committee plans and coordinates educational activities, including various workshops and contests, such as Creative Cooks, Cake Decorating Contest, Fashion Revue, and Beautiful You Day. The workshops are offered year-round to help members with their projects.
Meetings are typically held on the first Tuesday of odd months. Times and location are posted on the events page.
Shooting Sports Council
The Shooting Sports Council plans and coordinates the Shooting Sports practices and shoots for Adams County. Certified Shooting Sports leaders teach youth safe and responsible use of firearms and archery equipment.

Programs Committee
The Adams County 4-H Programs Committee supports the non-profit 4-H programs throughout Adams County. Funds raised are used for educational and leadership opportunities and activities, scholarships, projects and awards that develop each participant’s potential for premier leadership, personal growth and future success in all areas of life for children 8 to 18 years old throughout Adams County.
The Adams County 4-H Programs Committee is a group of adult 4-H volunteers who have taken on the responsibility for raising funds to support the non-profit 4-H programs throughout Adams County. We’re hoping you can help us out! Funds are used to support Adams County youth in the following Leadership, Citizenship and Educational projects, activities & awards among others:
- Colorado Leadership Conference/4-H Youth Fest
- Leadership Development Conference
- 4-H State Conference
- Citizenship Washington Focus
- Educational Scholarships
- National 4-H Congress
- National Western Roundup
- Regional and National project-specific contests
- Adams County Fair
These activities and projects help develop each participant’s potential for premier leadership, personal growth and recognize success for the 4-H members throughout Adams County.

Horse Committee
The Adams County 4-H Horse Committee is a group of 4-H Members & 4-H Adult Volunteers who have taken on the responsibility to provide learning situations for the development of leadership, responsibility and effective citizenship. There are many opportunities to get involved in the Horse Program whether it be in a small or large role!
- Promote, plan, coordinate and execute educational activities embracing traditional and current equine industry philosophies for the youth and adults in the 4-H horse program and community.
- To plan, promote and conduct county wide educational horse activities.
- To cooperate with the agencies of the USDA and Colorado State University Extension in the accomplishment of our goals.
- To lend assistance and be of help to anyone in the 4-H horse project.
- To adopt and adhere to the current editions of the Colorado 4-H Horse Rule Book and Colorado 4-H Horse Project Manual. The committee reserves the right to amend or adopt additional rules for the safety of the program and the members.

Livestock Committee
The Livestock Committee plans and coordinates various livestock workshops and activities for members, including Livestock Field Days and the judging extravaganza. Included in this area are Beef, Goats, Llama/Alpaca, Sheep, Swine, and Round Robin.
Plan, coordinate and execute educational activities and workshops for youth and adults in the 4-H livestock programs. These include Beef, Llama/Alpaca, Goats, Round Robin, Sheep and Swine. The Catch-A-Calf program at National Western Stock Show is also program of interest for livestock participants.

Small Animal Committee
The Small Animal Committee plans and coordinates educational programs and activities in the 4-H Small Animals Area. Included in this area are Cats, Dogs, Rabbits, Cavies, Pocket Pets, and Poultry.

Junior Livestock Sale Committee
The Sale Committee is a separate 501C3 organization from 4-H. They organize and put together the sale at the Adams County Fair.
