Intermediate members focus on bird care and exhibiting poultry. It means the bird is a specific, known breed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Breeding &amp; Market Turkeys<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Breeding &amp; Market Duck<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Geese<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pidgeons<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Game Birds<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Show Birds<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We recommend buying or borrowing a copy of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/co4h.colostate.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2025\/11\/Poultry-Handbook.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Poultry Resource Handbook<\/a><\/strong>. You should also consider reading the General Rules, Livestock, Equine &amp; Small Animal Rules, and 4-H Poultry sections of the <strong>Fair Premium Book<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-heading-4-font-size\" id=\"Project-Requirements\">Exhibition Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Poultry project members who intend to exhibit their animal(s) at the Adams County Fair must<br>complete the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enroll in the Poultry Project in 4-H Online<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete and submit an <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/co4h.colostate.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2025\/12\/AnimalCareForm.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Animal Care and Housing Form<\/a><\/strong> to the 4-H office by June 15<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify all poultry in 4-H Online by June 15\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Required in 4-H Online<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Animal name (or identifier) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hatch date (or date of purchase)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sex<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Breed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leg band (for production birds only; if bird doesn&#8217;t have a tag, enter &#8220;000&#8221;)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Optional in 4-H Online<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Photo<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tag number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Color and markings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type of poultry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend the Meat Quality Assurance (MQA) training once per year and pass the MQA test<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep record of your poultry project in the Livestock Record Book available for download on the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/co4h.colostate.edu\/programs-projects\/animal-science\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Colorado 4-H website<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Present an up-to-date Livestock Animal Record Book (also called e-record) with a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/shop4-h.org\/products\/4-h-members-record-book-cover\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">green record book cover<\/a><\/strong> at Record Book Interviews<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter fair classes on the Fair Entry website by July 1\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enter egg production breeds such as Sapphire Gems, Black\/Red Stars, Whiting True Blues, Majestic Marans in Mixed Breed Division.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are unsure of what Division to enter your poultry in, please contact the Superintendent or 4-H office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete and turn in the Livestock Record Book with a green cover and any necessary <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/co4h.colostate.edu\/4h-project\/4-h-poultry-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">supplements<\/a><\/strong> for egg producers by Friday before Labor Day to the Extension Office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-separator
