Gardening & Horticulture
Broomfield County Extension provides research‑based guidance and locally relevant expertise to help residents garden successfully in Colorado’s unique climate. Programs and resources include the Master Gardener Program, public demonstration and teaching gardens, and practical tools designed to support healthy, sustainable landscapes and food gardens throughout the community.

Broomfield Master Gardeners
The Colorado Master Gardeners of Broomfield are a small, but dedicated group of local volunteers willing to assist with your gardening and horticulture questions. Each Master Gardener has received extensive training on a variety of topics which affect Colorado landscapes, and they stand ready to assist.
Demonstration/Teaching gardens
Broomfield County Extension offers public demonstration and teaching gardens that highlight practical and appropriate gardening practices. Maintained by Broomfield Master Gardeners, the demonstration garden features a xeriscape design, while the teaching garden at Brunner Farmhouse and Gardens includes perennial beds and raised‑bed vegetable gardens used for hands‑on workshops and learning opportunities hosted by CSU Extension.

Broomfield Seed Library
The Broomfield Seed Library is a community resource that provides free seeds to help residents grow food, flowers, and plants at home. Operated by CSU Extension and located inside the Broomfield Library, the Seed Library encourages gardening, food resilience, and seed sharing by making a variety of fruit, vegetable, herb, and ornamental seeds available throughout the year.
CSU soil testing
The CSU Soil, Water and Plant Testing Lab at the SPUR campus in Denver offers year-round soil testing. It’s a great way to check the quality of soil in your yard and learn to improve it. Visit the Soil, Water and Plant Testing Laboratory website to learn more on how to use their services
