If so, please send me an email back and let me know what you received or what type of recognition you got. If you don't want to boast about yourself and you know of a fellow agent that received an award of some type - please feel free to go behind their back and let me know. Western SARE Professional Development Opportunity - Whole Farm Planning Training for Agricultural Educators

Holistic Management International has been teaching whole farm planning for almost 30 years. In this WSARE PDP-funded program you will learn how to facilitate whole farm planning effectively with the producers you serve. This program will provide practical outcome-based education that allows you and your community to use the knowledge, skills, processes and tools effectively with your diverse audiences and unique work settings and conditions.

This program is all distance learning so there is no travel and you can fit in most of the training on your time schedule. We are excited about the next stage of implementation which is to get a robust pool of applicants from which we can select 35 educators. I have included information about this program for you to apply if interested. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Application for this program is due December 1. To apply for or learn more about this program, email Ann Adams at anna@holisticmanagement.org. To learn more about the program you can also go to: http://mysare.sare.org/MySare/ProjectReport.aspx?do=viewRept&pn=EW13-021&t=2&y=2013

Online Animal Agriculture & Climate Change Certification Course

The Animal Agriculture and Climate Change online certification course will provide an in-depth understanding of the relationship between animal agriculture and climate change, both nationally and regionally, right from your office or home. This 12-hour, self-paced course will prepare you to discuss this new topic with your clientele and give you the resources to incorporate it into your existing programming. It also qualifies for continuing education credits from Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) and American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists.

The course officially began being offered on September 3 and will be offered the first of each month thereafter. Please visit http://www.extension.org/pages/66987/online-animal-agriculture-climate-change-certification-course#.UmlhyxAd9nU for more information.
