Reporting Reminder
Reports entered into CPRS are intended to capture your program efforts that relate directly with outputs or outcomes provided by the PRU’s. Use the definitions located within CPRS and the Extension website to ensure that you are reporting data as described by the Program Reporting Unit (PRU) leaders, PLT and sub-committees.
Required Posters – Judy Barth
In visiting at the Western regional meeting, I realized I needed to clarify the information I sent previously on the Civil Rights posters that are required in all work areas. If your office is co-located within another employment area (such as a courthouse) and that location has these posters readily viewable by all employees, there is no need for you to post them again within your particular office. So . . . if they are displayed in a common lunchroom, or on the walls of the entry way, or other readily accessible area, you do NOT need to duplicate the posting.
It's Time to fill out the Role and Responsibility Survey
If you want to get a jump on the next required piece of paperwork, fill out your Role and Responsibility Survey form. They are due next month! Attached is the form. Only CSU faculty and administrative professional staff (not state classified staff) need to complete a form. If you are county paid, you do not need to fill this out. Return the form to your regional office if you’re field based.
Sam Haslem Roast
Retired Routt County director, San Miguel Basin Ag agent and sheep and wool state specialist, Sam Haslem is being roasted by the Steamboat Springs Rotary Club. If you knew Sam and want to attend, the roast is May 14 at 5:30 pm at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. Call me for details.
Annual Reviews
Just a reminder that your annual review needs to be completed by the end of April. If you have any questions, please contact your regional director.
Ranching and a West That Works, April 24-25 at CSU
A free two-day conference focused on issues of ranching, land use, and sustainability will be held at Colorado State University’s Lory Student Theater on April 24-25. The Ranching and a West That Works conference is designed for a diverse audience – from students to families to business owners – who are encouraged to attend and learn from speakers who will explore ranching’s connections to water, food, sustainable grazing, public-private partnerships, livelihoods, rural economies and much more.
Ranching can build bridges between rural and urban communities through the twin connections of open space and food. Across the American West, ranching accounts for a majority of land use, both on private and on public lands. In fact, close to half of the private lands that surround our public lands belong to ranchers that graze livestock on public lands. There is a tight coupling of this land use that protects open space but also produces an important food item. This event will explore these connections and start important dialogue about new ideas for the future of ranching.
To RSVP for the conference contact Kellie.Clark@colostate.edu. For more information, visit www.coopext.colostate.edu/WR/ranchingcsu.shtml.
