To assure that all of you are kept up to date on a regular basis, the three regional directors and the state Extension Administration Office provides bi-weekly Extension Updates. Congratulations to Award Winners

I want to congratulate all of the award winners from Extension, associations, and ESP. You are to be commended for all the great work that’s done. I also want to congratulate everyone else. I know you all do great work. It's often a struggle to get people nominated for these awards so please remember to nominate someone next year.

Forum and Short Presentation

It was also great to see everyone at Forum. I’ve included one picture one picture (from my brief presentation on Western agents’ programming) that I really wanted to share. WELD and CALP

This year four people have been accepted into the Western Extension Leadership Development (WELD) Program. They are Deb Lester, Kim Morrison, Glenda Wentworth, and Connie Cecil. Jeff Pieper has submitted an application to the next Colorado Agriculture Leadership Program (CALP) class. It isn’t official that he has been accepted, but we hope he is.

Open Enrollment

REMINDER - - open enrollment for faculty and administrative professionals (not state classified staff) is being held now, November 10-28, 2014. Enrollment elections become effective January 1, 2015.

Remember, you must participate in the open enrollment process if you are:

  • Changing your benefits enrollment options (e.g. plans, pre/post tax status, coverage levels or beneficiaries)
  • Enrolling or continuing participation in a FSA (health or dependent care) for CY 2015
  • Adding or removing a spouse, domestic partner or civil union partner or a child(ren)
  • Changing your Defined Contribution Plan (DCP) retirement company beginning with 2015 contributions

Salary Task Force

The committee is being chaired by Eric McPhail. They will hold their second meeting next week. If you have input, contact Eric or one of the other committee members.

Performance Appraisal Committee

This committee is being chaired by Travis Hoesli, Grand County. The committee held its first meeting last week. If you have input on this topic contact Travis or one of the other members. If you would like to see the minutes of either of these committee meetings, send me an email and I’ll send them to you.

Western Vacancies

  • Tri River Area Horticulture Agent - this position is going to hold interviews on December 3 and 4.
  • Garfield 4-H Associate - this position is in final review and has an anticipated publishing date the first week in December.

Ram Pride Service Award

Lou Swanson and Raj Khosla were among three of their CSU colleagues to receive the University’s Ram Pride Service Award from President Frank for coming to the aid of a student in crisis overseas last March.
