What is 4-H Council?

The Middle Park 4-H Council is the youth-led governing body of the Middle Park 4-H clubs. This Council makes decisions regarding county 4-H policies and procedures that affect 4-H members county-wide. Therefore, all 4-H members are encouraged to get involved with council. Meetings are usually the first Monday of each month (unless it falls on a holiday) at 7:00pm at the Hot Sulphur Springs Town Hall. Leaders may determine another meeting schedule to best meet leader/member needs.

How does 4-H Council work?

Beyond attending meetings, 4-H Council offers many opportunities for members to be involved. Through community service, educational programming, and fundraising efforts members engage with their community. Members also further develop the life skills and values that 4-H is all about.

Middle Park 4-H Council is led by the following slate of officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Reporter, Parliamentarian, and Pledge Leader. There are also two Senators and an Alternate Senator that represent Grand County at district and state 4-H meetings.

Middle Park 4-H Council can also provide financial assistance to those wishing to attend 4-H leadership conferences. See the Trip Assistance Form below for details on requirements.

Each club should have at least two elected delegates who attend council meetings regularly and report back to their clubs. Attending council meetings regularly can open up even more district and state level opportunities. It is yet another opportunity where 4-H youth “learn by doing.”
