Colorado Master Gardener Program

What are Colorado Master Gardeners?

Master gardeners have a passion for learning, gardening, and giving back to their communities. They are hands-on in educational school gardens and help grow food for local communities. They are also passionate about pollinators! Most importantly, master gardeners are volunteer educators who support gardening success in Colorado.

Gardening in the mountains is different. Colorado gardening and landscaping takes grit…. and knowledge of our unique soils, climates, and plants. CSU Extension has been helping people grow in our great state for 150 years. Join us to learn the basics from our Colorado horticulture experts through our flexible ‘Green School’ program.

Interested in becoming a Master Gardener?

Lake County Extension will be launching our very own Colorado Master Gardener program in August 2026. The first cohort of interested gardeners will go through Green School (which runs October 2026 – March 2027) together, and will get to shape the direction and focus for our local program.
