Early fair goers learned about how to choose the correct horse bit and what human foods dogs can eat at the 2026 Morgan County Fair Demonstration Contest. The contest took place on Thursday, July 23rd in the 4-H Building. A busy Thursday at the Fair included the Dog Show, Creative Cooks Contest and wrapped up with the 4-H Demonstration Contest.

In the Intermediate Demonstration division at the Morgan County Fair, the Grand Champion was Thomas Cooper. Spectators learned about which human foods are and are not safe for dogs to eat in a presentation titled, “To Treat or not to Treat.”  The Intermediate Demonstration Grand Champion award was sponsored by Dan and Sharon Kauffman.

The Grand Champion in the Senior Demonstration division was Addyson Schwindt, who delivered a presentation titled, “Let’s Talk About Bits, Baby!” This presentation taught listeners how to choose the correct bit for their horse. The Senior Demonstration Grand Champion award was sponsored by Morgan County REA.

Peggy Edson was superintendent and Sharon Kauffman judged the speakers. Youth can represent Morgan County at the State Demonstration Contest which will be held on August 30th, in Pueblo, during the Colorado State Fair.
