2026 Shooting Sports – Overall Marksman

Junior and Senior Grand Champion 4-H Shooting Sports Participant Awards were presented Tuesday, July 14, during the Morgan County Fair Shooting Sports Banquet at the Morgan County Fairgrounds in Brush. During the ceremony, the overall Grand Champion Marksmen were recognized for their outstanding performances across multiple shooting sports disciplines.

Overall Marksmen

Wyatt Johnson was named the Junior Grand Champion Overall Marksman, while Saxson Keller earned the title of Senior Grand Champion Overall Marksman. Saxson Keller’s Senior Grand Champion plaque was sponsored by Engle Construction, Denny and Sandy Engle. The Junior Grand Champion award presented to Wyatt Johnson was sponsored by Jon and Cheryl Flair. To be eligible for these prestigious awards, participants must compete in a minimum of three shooting sports disciplines and successfully complete a 4-H record book. Junior Reserve Grand Champion honors were awarded to Raylan Neal, and Katelynn Johnson was named the Senior Reserve Grand Champion Marksman.  

Outstanding Participant Awards

In addition to the overall champion awards, Outstanding Participant Awards were presented to one youth in each shooting sports discipline. These awards recognize members who were nominated by their peers for demonstrating exceptional leadership, positive sportsmanship, and a willingness to go above and beyond to support others throughout the season.

Morgan County 4-H Shooting Sports members are now preparing to compete at the Colorado State 4-H Shooting Sports Contest, which will be held over two weekends during the Colorado State Fair. Participants will represent Morgan County while competing against top 4-H shooters from across the state.
