The books included the Secretary Book, Treasurer Book, Community Pride Book, and Scrapbook. These records are maintained throughout the 4-H year by each club’s elected officers. The official 4-H year runs from October 1 through September 30, so the books are not likely completed for the year, but should be as up to date as possible.

Secretary Books

A Colorado 4-H Club Secretary Book is the official record of a 4-H club’s activities throughout the year. It documents meeting agendas, attendance, minutes, officer reports, committee reports, and important club decisions. The secretary book demonstrates the club’s organization, communication, and record-keeping skills while providing a complete history of the club’s accomplishments. It is evaluated on accuracy, completeness, neatness, and adherence to Colorado 4-H record-keeping guidelines. In the Secretary Book Contest, Weldon Valley 4-H Club earned first place, followed by Lads ‘N’ Lassies 4-H Club in second and Wildcat 4-H Club in third. The Champion Secretary Record Book Award is sponsored by FMS Bank.

Treasurer Books

A Colorado 4-H Club Treasurer’s Book is the official financial record of a 4-H club throughout the program year. It documents all income and expenses, account balances, receipts, deposits, disbursements, and financial reports presented at club meetings. The treasurer’s book demonstrates responsible financial management, accuracy, and transparency while ensuring the club’s funds are properly accounted for. It is evaluated on completeness, organization, accuracy, and adherence to Colorado 4-H financial record-keeping guidelines. The Treasurer Book Contest featured four entries. Lads ‘N’ Lassies 4-H Club received first place, with Weldon Valley 4-H Club placing second. Winning Edge 4-H Club earned third, and Wildcat 4-H Club placed fourth. The Champion Treasurer Book Award is also sponsored by FMS Bank.

Club Scrapbooks

A Colorado 4-H Club Scrapbook is a creative record that highlights a club’s activities, achievements, and memories throughout the 4-H year. It showcases the club’s involvement through photographs, news clippings, event programs, captions, and other memorabilia that tell the story of the club’s experiences and accomplishments. The scrapbook reflects club spirit, member participation, community service, and leadership while preserving the history of the club. It is evaluated on creativity, organization, completeness, and how well it documents the club’s annual activities. Eight clubs exhibited scrapbooks at the 2026 Morgan County Fair. Lads ‘N’ Lassies 4-H Club received first place, followed by Wildcat 4-H Club in second, Snyder Pioneers 4-H Club in third, Weldon Valley 4-H Club in fourth, and Morgan Sandburs 4-H Club in fifth. Additional participating clubs included Winning Edge 4-H Club, Wiggins Cornerstone 4-H Club, and United 4-H Club. All participating clubs will receive awards sponsored by the Leaders’ Advisory Committee.

Community Pride Books

A Colorado 4-H Club Community Pride Book documents a club’s efforts to identify, plan, and complete a project that improves or benefits its community. The book highlights the planning process, member involvement, partnerships, project goals, activities, outcomes, and the impact of the project on the community. Through photos, narratives, and supporting materials, it demonstrates how 4-H members develop leadership, citizenship, and service skills while making a positive difference. Community Pride Books are evaluated on project planning, member participation, community impact, documentation, and overall presentation. The final club book category is Community Pride. Each 4-H club completes at least one community service project during the year, and the Community Pride Book highlights those efforts and their impact on the community. This year’s Community Pride Award, sponsored by KSIR Radio, was awarded to Lads ‘N’ Lassies 4-H Club. Weldon Valley 4-H Club earned second place.

All of these books, with the exception of the Treasurer Books, are on display in the Mark Arndt Event Center at the Morgan County Fairgrounds throughout the remainder of the 2026 Morgan County Fair, which runs July 24–30.

2026 4-H Club Officer Report Book Results Morgan County FairWednesday, July 22, 2026 What are Club Books?
