- Read the copy aloud to ensure that it flows smoothly.
- Check that the copy explains who, what, when, where, why and how, and is easy to understand.
- Replace abstract words with concrete ones.
- Eliminate jargon and technical terms.
- Use strong verbs.
- Keep paragraphs to less than eight typewritten lines.
- Have someone not familiar with the topic proofread the copy.
