4-H Artistic Clothing Project

The Colorado 4‑H Artistic Clothing Project helps youth build creativity, sewing skills, and personal style.

  • Upcycle Your Style focuses on reworking textiles and decorating garments.
  • Creative Sewing develops sewing techniques and goal‑setting skills.
  • Create Your Own lets older members explore areas such as pattern drafting, lace, historical fashion, and industry careers.
  • Buymanship teaches clothing selection, fabric knowledge, and wardrobe planning.
  • Recycled Clothing encourages transforming old garments or household materials into new outfits.

Youth in Artistic Clothing may qualify to compete in Fashion Revue at county, state, or national levels.

San Luis Valley Artistic Clothing Project Details

This project educates on the basic knowledge of artistic clothing.

You must complete an artistic clothing project according to state fair requirements along with a completed record book.

  • Attend 2 projects meetings.
  • Record book in a 3-ring folder will need to accompany your project.
  • See Project Manuals above in Materials & Curriculum for details.
  • Manuals can be printed from Colorado 4-H or purchased at the SLV Extension for $3.00
  • Materials can cost $10-$50
