4-H Electricity Project
The Colorado 4‑H Electricity Project gives youth hands‑on experience with electrical principles and real‑world applications, with each unit designed for a different skill level.
- Unit 1 – Magic of Electricity introduces beginners (ages 8–18) to basic ideas like how circuits work and what causes electrical attraction.
- Unit 2 – Investigating Electricity expands to AC/DC currents, Ohm’s law, series and parallel circuits, switching, and building simple alarms.
- Unit 3 – Wired for Power teaches safe household electrical practices, energy use, fuses, breakers, wiring types, bulbs, grounding, and identifying home circuits.
- Unit 4 – Entering Electronics (ages 11+) covers advanced concepts such as LEDs, SCRs, diodes, alarms, and sound‑activated circuits.
Across all units, members build problem‑solving and technical skills useful in STEM fields.
