4-H Metalworking Project

The Colorado 4‑H Metalworking Project teaches youth how to create metal projects using various welding joints and fabrication techniques.

Projects must stay within size limits of 3’ x 3’ x 7’, with weight restrictions determined by unit. Members should include photos in their e‑record showing surface preparation, welds in progress, and the completed project. Units 3 and 4 allow designs with moving parts and optional features such as lights or electrical components.

Through this project, youth gain practical metalworking experience and develop skills that can support personal interests or future career paths.
