4-H Outdoor Adventures Project

The Colorado 4‑H Outdoor Adventures Project encourages youth to explore and appreciate nature through a variety of outdoor experiences.

Members build skills in camping, hiking, backpacking, orienteering, navigation, and outdoor safety while learning about wildlife, plants, weather, and responsible environmental practices. Throughout the project, they strengthen teamwork, leadership, and problem‑solving in real outdoor settings. Older participants can advance their abilities by studying survival skills, water‑based activities, or trail stewardship.

These experiences help prepare youth for careers in outdoor education, conservation, and recreation, while fostering a lifelong connection to nature and active living.
