Stay up to date on upcoming events, safety notices, resource availability, and critical local developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Colorado&nbsp;Animal Health &amp; Biosecurity Updates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-heading-4-font-size\">Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) recently reported detections of HPAI in two wild birds \u2014 the first cases we\u2019ve seen in several months. Nationally, there\u2019s been an uptick in both backyard and commercial&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aphis.usda.gov\/livestock-poultry-disease\/avian\/avian-influenza\/hpai-detections\/commercial-backyard-flocks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">poultry cases<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;across the upper Midwest, northern states, and Utah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now is the time to prepare your poultry stakeholders for another active season through the winter.<br>\u2013 The Extension Foundation has shared a variety of helpful&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/h5n1.extension.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">biosecurity resources for poultry producers<\/a><\/strong>.<br>\u2013 Additional guidance and updates are available on the&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ag.colorado.gov\/animal-health\/biosecurity-101\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Colorado Department of Agriculture\u2019s website<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-heading-4-font-size\">New World Screwworm (NWS)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are no changes in import regulations for cattle, bison, or horses from Mexico. A second case of NWS was&nbsp;confirmed in Nuevo Le\u00f3n, approximately 100 miles south of the previous detection site.<br><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aphis.usda.gov\/livestock-poultry-disease\/stop-screwworm\/current-status?page=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">See the&nbsp;latest map update<\/a><\/strong>.
