Dolores County 4-H
4-H is America’s largest youth development organization—empowering nearly six million young people across the U.S. with the skills to lead for a lifetime. We believe that every child has valuable strengths and real influence to improve the world around us. 4-H programs empower young people to be well-informed citizens, actively engaged in their communities and the world.
Test kits & supplies
Dolores County Extension offers free testing kits and supplies for water testing, soil testing, and feed analysis to support agricultural and household needs. Kits include sample containers and clear instructions, and a soil probe is available if needed. All kits are free through our office, just pay for shipping and laboratory fees. Contact the Extension office for more information.

Plant & insect identification
Dolores County Extension provides plant and insect identification services to help residents diagnose issues and make informed decisions. For best results, insects should be submitted in a clear container or bag, and plant or plant disease samples should include as much live foliage and root material as possible. Contact the Extension office for more information.
Pressure cooker gauge testing
Dolores County Extension offers free pressure gauge testing in our office during normal business hours. Just bring us your pressure cooker lid and gauge or you can take off the gauge and leave the lid at home.
We will compare your gauges reading with our master gauge so that you can rest assured that you are cooking at the correct PSI. Contact the Extension office for more information.
