Jefferson County Extension welcomes our community to get involved! There are many ways to learn, participate, volunteer, partner, work, and connect with us to meet your and/or your organization’s goals.
CSU Extension is your local go-to resource for science-based information and programs in youth development, home food preservation, food safety in the home, agriculture, backyard gardening, natural resources, and plant and insect diagnostics.

Youth to adult programs and resources are available, many of which are free to low-cost.
From learning best gardening practices, how to can delicious foods safely, to agriculture, finance skills, community connection, natural resources, STEAM, and life skills- there is something to match everyone’s interests! Register and join us.

Volunteer
Teen and adult volunteer opportunities are available
From teaching life skills like robotics, crocheting, sewing, photography, art, engineering, technology, agriculture, animal care and science to 4-H youth in clubs or after-school programs, educating campers at ENOR Environmental Camp, becoming a Colorado Master Gardener or training Native Plant Master courses- there are many ways to volunteer and make a difference in our community.

We partner with schools, non-profits, libraries, and industry & government entities to provide a wide-array of programs and services. Please reach out to us to discuss your needs and collaboration ideas for education, workshops, outreach, after-school or in-school programs, field trips or community events.
- 4-H Youth Development Partnerships: Free to low-cost partnerships available! After school programs, STEM and agriculture education, club programs, and more!
- Horticulture and Backyard Gardening Partnerships: Youth and Adult education collaborations, field trips to demonstration gardens, community garden coaching, community events participation, school programs, and more!
- Natural Resources Partnerships: Youth and adult education collaborations, Native Plant Master dual offerings, and more!
- Health and Well-being Partnerships: Adult and Family programs and resources on financial wellness, food safety and preservation, aging, parenting, health and nutrition.
Work
Summer seasonal opportunities are available with ENOR Environmental Discovery Camp
For adult educators who have experience working with youth. Earn up to $5000 for a 5-week commitment. Applications open in February annually. Full-time and other opportunities may be available statewide through CSU and our local webpages.
