2025 Impact Highlight
Weld County, Front Range Region
Centralized resource hub supports healthy aging, community well-being
The Aging Well Collective Impact Workgroup, organized by United Way of Weld, adopted AARP’s Age-Friendly Communities framework in 2020 to make Weld County a better place for residents of all ages, focusing on safe streets, improved housing and transportation, access to services, and opportunities for community participation.
A community survey conducted as part of the initiative identified that Communication and Information was a key focus area in need of improvement. To address this opportunity, the Communication and Information work team developed a new website to centralize resources specifically for older adults in Weld County, modeled after Larimer County’s Senior Access Points.
The project was supported by graduate student Rachel Washburn as part of the 2024 CSU Extension Summer Internship Program. During the course of the summer internship, Washburn conducted research and gathered and organized resources for the website build. Weld County Extension Specialist Sheila Beckley and Dr. Allyson Brothers, CSU associate professor in the department of Human Development and Family Studies, served as co-mentors for the internship.
The Weld County Senior Access Points website was officially launched in October 2025 as a centralized resource to help older adults in Weld County more easily access the services and information they need to stay healthy, independent, and connected.
Preliminary website data from the first three months post-launch (October – December 2025) indicated a total of 1,204 page visits, with an average engagement time of 20.6 seconds.
The three most viewed pages were DMV2Go (Transportation), Greeley Active Adult Center, and Housing and Home Maintenance. Current engagement with pages related to transportation, community centers, and housing demonstrates that residents are actively seeking resources that support mobility, social participation, and safe living environments.
By making critical information easier to find and use, the website can help strengthen community well-being, reduce barriers to services, and support healthier aging across Weld county.
