Northeast Regional Engagement Center

The CSU Northeast Regional Engagement Center (NREC) serves as a partner and connector in Northeast Colorado, working alongside communities to address rural challenges in healthy aging, food system development, and language access. Through programs like digital literacy workshops, caregiver support groups, and cultural initiatives, NREC builds relationships and drives impact where resources are often limited.

By amplifying rural voices and tailoring solutions to local needs, NREC positions CSU as a true champion of rural Colorado. This work strengthens the region’s prosperity and reinforces the university’s role as a catalyst for lasting community-driven change.

County & Area Impact Stories

Featured Impact

Behavioral health resources in rural areas of Colorado are limited. Every county in Colorado except one is considered to have a shortage of therapists, and people often travel hours to meet with a specialist. Given these limitations, small communities are seeking resources to enhance their own skills to support themselves and each other.
