Community Needs Assessment Survey

CSU Extension: your trusted resource for connecting community needs to CSU

For more than 100 years, Colorado State University Extension has connected Coloradans to actionable, research-based solutions, programming, services, and expertise across a wide range of topic areas. Our vision is to be the trusted partner for Colorado prosperity, working with Coloradans and communities so all can thrive. That’s the commitment we make as part of our land-grant mission.

At the foundation of our work is an understanding of evolving community needs and our roles as a partner working and innovating with Coloradans to co-create knowledge and science-informed solutions.

In 2026 we are launching a statewide community needs assessment to learn more about changing local community needs and to identify the potential areas of highest-priority education, research, and partnership, as well as inform future programming. The survey is planned to include a statewide survey (conducted July – August); secondary data review; and community conversation opportunities.

Our last statewide needs assessment was conducted in 2020 and identified the need for expanding Extension’s work in health programming and resources around the state.

Your partnership is needed. Respond to our statewide survey.

We are partnering with an external survey provider to conduct a community needs assessment survey in your county. The survey will be conducted between mid-July and mid-August. If you are randomly selected to take the survey, a request and link will be sent by text. Our logo will appear and the text language will read:

‘Colorado State University (CSU) Extension is interested in hearing about what’s important to our community members. Even if you have not heard of CSU Extension, we want to hear from you. Your responses will help us focus our efforts to improve education and research-based resources that benefit the community. Responses to this survey are confidential and are voluntary. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Click the link to get started [LINK].’
