Emily Killeen has accepted the position effective April 20, 2015. Emily worked for several years as a 4-H coordinator for Washington State University Extension and, most recently, as a community affairs specialist for the Maricopa County (AZ) Attorney’s Office.

Larimer County
Extension Agent, Family and Consumer Science
The position is under review.

PEAKS AND PLAINS REGION – Bill Nobles

Golden Plains Area – Sedgwick County
Area Extension Agent (Sedgwick County), Agronomy, #02-15
Interviews are scheduled for February 5 and 6.

Area Extension Agent, 4-H (Sedgwick County, half-time position), #05-15
This fully county funded position is being advertised with a closing date of February 18.

Area Extension Agent (Kit Carson County), 4-H Youth Development, #06-15
The position is being advertised with a closing date of February 25.

Logan County
Extension Agent, 4-H Youth Development (livestock emphasis), #18-14
Kacy Atkinson was hired on February 2. Kacy was raised on an Angus ranch in Wyoming and was previously employed with CSU Extension as the 4-H livestock and agriculture agent in Arapahoe County. She earned a Bachelor of Science in agribusiness and a M.B.A. in agriculture at West Texas A&M University. Since then she has earned a Bachelor of Science in agricultural communications at the University of Wyoming and a Master of Arts in speech communications at West Texas A&M University.

Extension Agent, Cropping Systems/Natural Resources
Bruce Bosley has announced his retirement effective March 20, 2015. The position is under review.

Morgan County
Extension Agent, Family and Consumer Science/4-H Youth Development, #22-14
Interviews were held January 29-30. Final negotiations are underway.

Southeast Area
Area Extension Agent (Cheyenne/Kiowa Counties), Agriculture/Natural Resources, #04-15
The committee is scoring applications. Interviews are scheduled for March 11 and 12.

Peaks and Plains Area – Arkansas and San Luis Valleys

Regional Extension Water Specialist, #20-14
Interviews were held on February 3-4. Final negotiations are underway.

WESTERN REGION – C.J. Mucklow

Garfield County
Extension Associate, 4-H Youth Development & Extension Coordinator, #03-15
Interviews are scheduled for February 9 and 10.

Tri River Area

Area Extension Agent, Horticulture, #17-14
Susan Carter has accepted this position effective February 1. Susan started with CSU Extension in June of 2014 as a horticulture program coordinator in the Tri River Area, Mesa County and has left that position for this new position as Area Extension Agent in the Tri River Area, Mesa County. Prior to coming to work for CSU Extension, Susan worked as a landscape designer and assistant planner/code enforcement officer for the City of Fruita.

Rhonda Follman has announced her resignation effective April 23, 2015. The position description is under review and will be advertised soon.

STATE OFFICE – Jeff Goodwin

CSU Campus
Extension Specialist, 4-H Youth Development, Animal Science & Shooting Sports, #16-14
Sam Lowry was hired on January 23. Sam has a Master of Science in agricultural biology from New Mexico State University, and received his bachelor’s degree in the same field also from New Mexico State. Prior to coming to CSU Extension, Sam worked as an agronomist for a commercial farm and, most recently, as an Extension agent in Grant County, New Mexico.

State-wide Positon
Colorado State Master Gardener Coordinator, #01-15 (half-time position)
Mary Small has accepted this position as of March 1, 2015. Mary is currently the horticulture agent in Jefferson County and will continue half-time in this position. Mary’s Colorado Master Gardener half-time office will be located in University Square on campus.

Personal Information: I was born and raised on a commercial Angus ranch in Wyoming, where I still own and run cattle with my family. I was involved in higher education in Texas for 8 years, and managed a leadership program for agriculture producers in Wyoming, in addition to being previously employed by CSU Extension. I enjoy outdoor activities, and love to travel and see new places as often as I can.

Job Experience: I was previously the 4-H Livestock and Agriculture Agent in Arapahoe County. Additionally, I worked with 4-H programs on a volunteer basis for 12 years in Texas, and worked for the Albany County Fair in Wyoming.
