Community Garden

The Boulder County Extension Community Garden was established more than 35 years ago and includes several dozen plots. Garden plots are available to be rented by community members each growing season. CSU Extension also conducts research trials on several crops for public educational use within the garden.

Welcome to the Boulder County Extension Community Garden!

We strive to create an atmosphere of positive collaboration for our gardeners by sharing ideas, strategies, newsletters, and CSU Extension information. Our gardeners enjoy the camaraderie of a diverse group with a wide range of gardening knowledge and skills. Gardening is for everyone! We also appreciate the sharing of plants, flowers and veggies with each other and local food banks!

The Boulder County Extension Community Garden was established by Barbara Hyde in the 1980’s. It consists of several dozen plots that are rented by community members in need of a place to grow. We encourage edible and ornamental gardens. CSU Extension has research trials on several crops for public educational use within the garden as well. Our community areas grow numerous crops including hops, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, grapes, goji berries, and rhubarb.

We have plots ranging between 250-700 square feet available. Most plots have their own water spigot for your convenience. When possible, compost is delivered based on community request. Some tools are shared by our members. In addition to a one time deposit of $50, the annual fee per plot is $100 for plots above 400 square feet and $70 for plots under 400 square feet. Please be aware that there is a wait list for plots.

Our newly established ADA compliant garden beds are now available! For more information, or to be put on the wait list, contact the Extension office.

Note: We endorse the use of non-chemical means for weed and pest control, but this is not an organic garden.
