San Miguel Basin 4-H
4-H is America’s largest youth development organization—empowering nearly six million young people across the U.S. with the skills to lead for a lifetime. We believe that every child has valuable strengths and real influence to improve the world around us. 4-H programs empower young people to be well-informed citizens, actively engaged in their communities and the world.
Regional Seed Library
The SMB Regional Seed Library provides our community with access to a wide variety of seeds that are perfect for our climate. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned gardener, the Seed Library is an excellent resource for starting or expanding your garden.

Vegetation & Weed Management Program
Whether you need help identifying weeds, controlling invasive species, or managing your land, our local Vegetation and Weed Control Manager can help.
Soil & Water Testing
Healthy soil is the foundation of any successful garden. Testing your soil helps you understand its pH, nutrient levels, and texture, ensuring that your plants get the best possible start. Whether you’re growing vegetables, flowers, or shrubs, soil testing is essential for optimizing growth.

Native Plant Master Program
The Native Plant Master program helps Coloradans build plant identification skills, understand ecological relationships, and promote stewardship of native landscapes. Through CSU Extension, experts and volunteers provide hands-on learning that connects people to Colorado’s unique flora and fosters sustainable practices.
Cottage Food Safety Training
Colorado Senate Bill 12-048 allows individuals to produce, sell and store certain types of “cottage food” products in an unlicensed home kitchen that are non-potentially hazardous and that do not require refrigeration. The Colorado Cottage Food Act allows individuals to make and sell a limited range of foods, including spices, teas, dehydrated produce, nuts, seeds, honey, jams, jellies, preserves, fruit butter, flour, and baked goods, including candies, fruit empanadas, and tortillas.
