About Our Club
In the late 1940’s the Walsh Busy Bees 4-H Club was formed. There was Cooking, Sewing and Livestock. The Club has been on-going since the post-war era. Today, our project participation varies.
We still have successful, hard-working Livestock members that seem to speak “baaa”, mooo”, and “neigh” quite well. However, we also have creative seamstresses that may certainly be on HGTV with their own design shows in the future. We have amazing cake decorators that show promise in giving the Cake Boss a run for his money, and pretty darn good cooks that I am sure may be the world’s next great chef.
Our club continues to have rocket builders that may be visiting the next solar system by the time they are adults. My hope for our robotics team is they will create a cost friendly robot version to clean my house; I am certain that the Shark Tank will fund them. Though our members’ interests are diversified, we have a common goal to serve the community that supports us.
Some of the service we undertake is helping Walsh Healthcare Center with their holiday events and their Block Party, and we are also Salvation Army Christmas bell ringers. Our club members are defined by our name “Busy Bees”; they are a very involved and hard working group of young ladies and gentlemen.
We meet monthly on the first Monday of the month to discuss 4-H business, eat and have fun while learning, but also to plan our next service projects.
