June Pay Date Shifted Back to June

For the first time in 15 years, CSU employees who are paid once a month will receive their June paycheck on the last business day of June, instead of on the first business day of July. See https://source.colostate.edu/june-pay-date-shifted-back-to-june/ for more information.

State Classified Open Enrollment ends May 14 – Lori Bates

Open enrollment for FY18-19 benefits is April 24-May 14. This year is a passive enrollment for State Classified employees, which means current benefits elections carry into the next plan year. To make changes or review your benefits elections, log in at https://benefitsolver.com and use company key ‘soc’.  Click here for details.

Federal Reports – Jan Carroll

Thanks to the support of many, our 2017 Annual Report (combined with AES) was submitted to NIFA on time.  We are waiting to know if it is accepted or needs more work.  Once accepted, I can give you a link to review it yourselves.  CPRS provided most of the data required in this report.  In other news, the 2017 RREA report submitted in December was approved and we received very positive comments on the work John Rizza is doing in the Western Region, under this funding.

LucidPress for Templates – Joanne Littlefield

LucidPress is an online platform we are using, in conjunction with CSU Creative Services, to create graphic designs, using pre-formatted templates. If you’d like to start using LucidPress, contact Joanne Littlefield or Tyler Rayburn to be added. You’ll then receive an email from LucidPress on your next steps.

Day at the Capitol on Monday, April 23^rd Highlights – Patti Schmitt

• Almost 200 FLTI participants in attendance from Arapahoe County, Denver Five Points, Jefferson County, Larimer County, Longmont/Northern Boulder County, and Prowers County. (Four of these sites are hosted by Extension offices.
• FLTI of Colorado received a Bipartisan Joint House and Senate Tribute – to view the reading on the House Floor go to: https://youtu.be/oI9WozOwtVU?t=32m3s (Several Legislators spoke about FLTI and CSU Extension directly). The Bipartisan Tribute was sponsored by Representative Jeni Arndt, Representative Perry Buck, and Senator John Kefalas.
• 16 Legislators from both sides of the aisle met with and praised FLTI participants for their focus on co-creating positive solutions to their communities most difficult problems.
• Representative Dafna Michaelson Jenet was our keynote speaker and she was joined by speaker Darcy Hutchins from the Colorado Department of Education, Family Partnership Director. Both leaders spoke about and praised what FLTI graduates are doing for communities across the state.
• FLTI participants joined Governor John Hickenlooper for the signing of Senate Bill 151 about bullying and prevention.

PILD – Jan Carroll

Lou supported representatives from our professional organizations to attend the JCEP Public Issues Leadership Development (PILD) conference in Washington, D.C. Greg Felsen, Benzel Jimmerson, Travis Hoesli, and Judy Barth joined me, April 9 – 11.  In our five visits on the hill, we actually met four of the Members of Congress.  Benzel and Judy stayed for the post conference workshop, “Civil Dialogue in the Public Arena.”
