Chaffee County Master Gardeners
Growing Plants. Growing People.
Who are the Colorado Master Gardeners?
The Colorado Master Gardener program is a unique intersection between University Horticulture expertise and community volunteers interested in educating locally. We’re hands-on in educational school gardens, we’re helping grow food for local communities, and we’re passionate about pollinators.
The Master Gardener Program is a community-based, horticulture training and volunteer program through CSU Extension. After completing in-depth training, Master Gardeners help the gardening public solve their horticulture-related problems with scientific, research-based knowledge, while providing meaningful outreach.

Chaffee County Master Gardeners
It can be a challenge to garden in Chaffee County but the results can be amazing. Colorado Master Gardener volunteers help you become a successful gardener.
Chaffee County is lucky to have an active group of Colorado Master Gardeners, who partner with the Chaffee County Fairgrounds team, to plant and maintain the Chaffee County Fairgrounds Demonstration Gardens. The gardens showcase plants that do well in our short season, dry climate, and as a space to host classes on gardening, seed saving, composting and more.
