Colorado State University, Fort Collins seeks qualified candidates to apply for the position of Director of Communications, Office of Engagement & Extension. The Director of Communications has primary leadership responsibilities for all aspects of marketing, communications, and public relations for Colorado State University’s Office of Engagement and Extension. This individual will report directly to the Vice President for Engagement and Extension and serve as a member of the leadership team. This is a full-time, 12-month regular administrative professional appointment.
The Director of Communications is the primary source of all internal and external communication, outreach, and promotional efforts for the OEE. The director provides leadership, guidance, management, and coordination in the administration of marketing, communications, and public relations efforts. This position will be responsible for strategic alignment and coordination of communications staff throughout OEE units.
In collaboration with information technology leadership in OEE, the Director of Communications provides oversight to and management of the Engagement and Extension web activities and engagement branding efforts statewide. This individual develops strategy for an off-campus communications plan, working cooperatively with communications personnel in CSU Extension, CSU Online, and the Colorado Water Center. Engagement personnel and activities are dispersed throughout the state of Colorado and this position will be called upon to lead others in appropriate communications, marketing, and branding procedures by influence rather than from a proximate position of authority.
