Extension Update – December 1, 2015   arrow

To assure that all of you are kept up to date on a regular basis, the three regional directors and the state Extension Administration Office provides bi-weekly Extension Updates. This forum is for all Extension announcements, so if you have something to distribute, please forward it to Lori Bates with FOR EXTENSION UPDATE noted.

December 1, 2015

On Behalf of the State Extension Administration Office:

Program Funding Grants Continue for 2016 – Jan Carroll

Proposals will be accepted until February 1st at 5 p.m. This is an e-mail application process only. Regional Directors (RDs) will review the proposals and make decisions by February 15th.  Approximately $30,000 is available and award dollars must be spent by December 1, 2016.

The intent of the Program Funding Grant is to financially support program delivery. Each Planning & Reporting Unit (PRU) is invited to submit one proposal. Joint proposals may be submitted as one document.  Maximum recommended request is $5,000.

Proposals (limited to one page) should clearly describe the program to be funded, why it is a priority of the PRU, and how it fits into the 2015-2016 Plan of Work (POW). There should be potential for state-wide impact; that is, the program should not be limited to only one or a few sites. All proposals must include at least one county-based staff and one campus (or regional or experiment station)-based faculty member. Programs should be innovative and have potential for or demonstrated sustainability. “Bonus” points will be granted for proposals that demonstrate commitment to diversity.

Funds must be expended by December 1, 2016; funds cannot be extended or renewed.

PRUs will be expected to report results through to the Program Leadership Team (PLT) before December 31, 2016.

To apply, send a one-page proposal (organized according to the rubric Jan will send to PLT) and attach the budget and narrative to Jan.Carroll@colostate.edu. Contact Jan with any questions 970-491-6102.

University Holiday Schedule:

The University’s holiday schedule for Christmas is Wednesday – Friday, December 23-25. The State Extension Administration Office will be closed those days.

The ordering form is located online here: http://extension.colostate.edu/docs/comm/order-form.pdf

Orders will be processed once a minimum quantity of 12 items is reached (orders will be combined to meet minimum quantity) in order to keep the embroidery costs down. If you have any questions, contact Joanne Littlefield.
