Extension Update – January 29, 2016   arrow

On Behalf of the State Extension Administration Office:

Colorado Planning and Reporting System (CPRS) – Jan Carroll

All the Plans of Work (POW) are rolled over, so anyone can complete an individual Plan to Invest (PTI) now. It’s up to you and your local demand whether you roll over your plan, or create a new one. While our Extension Planning and Reporting calendar http://extension.colostate.edu/docs/staffres/program/calendar.pdf suggests your first reports are due by April 10th, once your plan is approved by your supervisor you can report at any time. If you have conducted programs, made phone calls and sent e-mails, loaned kits, convened meetings, sent media releases, and/or posted on line in January, please go ahead and report by February 10th. Give me a call anytime; check with your Planning and Reporting Unit (PRU) Leader if you have questions about “where to report” something; contact Darrin Goodman if you have technical issues.

Federal Annual Report and Plan of Work – Jan Carroll

I am writing these documents now, and am so grateful to agents and specialists who have provided narratives. Here’s how it makes a difference: every outcome that we report must include three components – what is the issue (who cares and why?); what has been done?; and results. I have had to mark some categories “not reporting on this outcome measure,” because while there may have been some numbers in the outcome screen, there is no text for me to include in the report. As you are entering reports during 2016, please take time to tell the story in our on-line reporting system, so your good work can be forwarded on to our Federal partner, NIFA.

Principles of Community – Joanne Littlefield

The new Colorado State University ‘Principles of Community’ have been released. We’ve formatted them into an Extension template, which has been posted online at: http://extension.colostate.edu/docs/staffres/community-principles.pdf

Additionally, at the recommendation of the Extension Diversity Catalyst Team, a poster will be printed for each county office, and sent via Friday mail. In the meantime, you can print the version online. You can find the link on the Extension website under Extension staff resources/ Organizational Information & Resources.

PILD – Jan Carroll

Again this spring I will coordinate a trip to the Public Issues Leadership Development Conference in Washington, D.C., April 10 – 13.  Anyone can attend. Professional associations offer some scholarships, so please check websites if you’re interested in financial support for the conference. If you want to/plan to go, please contact me so we can schedule our visits on the Hill, and States’ Night Out activities. http://jcep.org/public-issues-leadership-development-conference
