To assure that all of you are kept up to date on a regular basis, the three regional directors and the state Extension Administration Office provides bi-weekly Extension Updates. This forum is for all Extension announcements, so if you have something to distribute, please forward it to Lori Bates with FOR EXTENSION UPDATE noted.

County/Area Directors (CAD) Meeting

This meeting will be held in Pueblo on December 7-9. Look for registration information to come shortly. While this meeting is for county and area directors, it’s also for those interested in learning more about these positions. If this applies to you, please plan on attending.


Western Region Vacancies

  • Garfield County Agriculture & 4-H Youth – This position is closed and the search committee is determining which candidates will be interviewed. Interviews are scheduled for November 18.
  • Western Region Range Specialist – This position closed October 20 and applications are being reviewed. Interviews are scheduled for December 17 and 18.

Accessing Our Social Media:
With all the buzz surrounding social media, we wanted to make sure website users could easily access our social content. The icons found in the upper left region of the website’s header point to Extension’s social media pages, where users can browse content and like, follow, or subscribe to our Facebook, YouTube and Pinterest pages. Similar icons also exist in the footer area near the bottom of each page.

Sharing Our Website Content on User’s Social Media Pages:

Sharing From Your Computer:
To “share” any of our Web pages on social media, use the buttons that appear on the left side of the screen. These buttons appear when viewing the website from a computer.

Simply click on the icon where you wish to share. If you don’t see the correct platform, click on the plus (+) icon. You’ll need to log into your desired social media account in order to post the page to your wall.

Sharing on mobile device
Sharing From Mobile Devices:
The sharing buttons pictured above do not appear on a mobile device, such as a tablet or a smart phone. Instead, a Share bar will appear at the bottom of the screen, as seen in this image. Use the Share button to share the Web page that you are viewing, or use the down-arrow to minimize the share feature.
