RD Webinars – Jan Carroll

There will be no RD Webinar in April, due to scheduling (Western Regional Meeting). Please note we have added a session in July, and dropped all our topics back one month. This series of webinars is sponsored by your Regional Directors (RDs) specifically for County and Area Directors (C/ADs). Anyone is welcome to attend. These webinars are recorded, so there is no phone bridge; your audio will be through your computer.

Remaining Dates and Topics for 2015

5/21 2015 Expectations for Programming
6/25 2015 Relationships and Legislative Engagement
7/23 2015 Emerging Issues

Adobe Connect and eXtension – Ruth Willson

Adobe Connect web conferencing service was provided to CSU Extension for the past several years through eXtension and Iowa State. Access to Adobe Connect may retire June 30, 2015. A bid for proposals went out March 2 and were due back for review on March 27, 2015. Currently no decision has been made regarding the web conferencing provider or the platform that will be used through eXtension past June 30, 2015.

All of the recorded files are being downloaded and will be posted to either YouTube or Vimeo, depending upon the size. I will work with individuals and groups to insure the recordings are uploaded and the new link is provided. Links posted to our website will be changed when the files are uploaded.

If you have any questions or concerns about this process, be sure and contact me at 970-491-6988 or ruth.willson@colostate.edu.

CSU Vendor List – Joanne Littlefield

The 2015 Colorado State University vendor list is now online at: http://www.ext.colostate.edu/staffres/vendor-list.pdf

Please use this as you order promotional items, and be sure to give me a call with any questions. If you don’t see a preferred vendor on the list, please be sure to let us know, because we can always request an exception.

On another note, the ordering system we had in place for apparel is no longer available. The owners of the company we’ve used for years, Crider and Company, have decided to retire. They have sold the company to ProCorp Images, who are on the list mentioned above. We’ll be reevaluating how we might provide the service in the future, but please let me know of your interest and needs.

Zoom Web Conferencing – Ruth Willson

In anticipation of the retirement of Adobe Connect, we purchased an educational license for Zoom web conferencing. The license allows for 20 separate accounts to host and record meetings. PRU’s have been assigned a CSU account with an associated email and calendar. All members of each PRU can sign into this account using THEIR eID and password. PRU leaders were sent information about Zoom, the account assigned to the PRU, and how to access the email and calendar. This information should be shared with the members of the PRU. If PRUs have questions about this process, please let me know.

The Tri River, Southeast and Golden Plains areas, along with the three regional offices, were also set up with accounts under the state license. This provides multiple ways for individuals to access Zoom for hosting web conferences.

The technology unit has two accounts that can be used when needed. If you need to set up a meeting outside of any of these options, please contact me.

Zoom accounts can host up to 25 participants. An add-on was purchased that allows for up to 100 participants for an event. If you expect there will be more than 25 connected, please contact someone from the tech unit so the add-on can be associated with the account that is hosting the event.

Jeff Wood posted learning materials on the training site at: http://www.ext.colostate.edu/vid_tutorials/#zoom

If you have any questions about Zoom, be sure and contact me at 970-491-6988 or ruth.willson@colostate.edu.
